Clips Montage and Soundtrack Preview for Indie Film Highway 91

And now for something a bit different ... indie filmmaker Sonny Fernandez, who's currently shooting the (as he describes it)"crazy super-bloody zombie movie"Highway 91, sent over a video montage featuring clips from the film backed up by the first official song from the soundtrack.

What happened was Fernandez's friend Topher, who does much of the music for his flicks, and his other pal Sky grabbed a guitar and decided to play a song. Fernandez says,"They didn’t even take off their zombie make-up. The song came out so good, I decided to make it an official song on the Highway 91 soundtrack, and I took that performance and made it into a music video featuring clips!"

For a look at the director's earlier work, check outBleed, which has finally been released on a 2-disc special edition remastered DVD that includes commentary from Fernandez as well as stars Cody Tergesen, Justin Kavlie, Jared Eamon, Matt Hagel and Alex Radi; a blooper reel, deleted scenes, and a making-of feature.

Final Hurricane Teaser Video Provides an Introduction to Rosewood

And so the sixth and final teaser preview for 30 Seconds to Mars' upcoming short film"Hurricane"has hit the Web, and we have it for you right here in all its unsavory and unsettling glory. Are you ready to meet Rosewood?

All six of the introductory clips have been just a few seconds in length but provide a good idea of the type of film we can expect from director Bartholomew Cubbins (aka Jared Leto's alias). The roughly 20-minute long"Hurricane", titled after the track of the same name from the band's latest album release,This Is War, will be, as frontman Leto describes it, a"meditation on the violence of sex and the sex of violence. The video is a surrealistic dream, nightmare, fantasy through the streets of New York City at night where the people and places that are normally reserved for the darker recesses of this town are kind of brought into the light and celebrated. It’s like a big, giant art opening really where the freaks have taken over the town."

Check out"Introducing Rosewood"below (along with"Tomo","The Gimps","Shannon","Telephone","Jared", and the original teaser). Look for"Hurricane"in its entirety soon!

Eli Roth Producing More Horrors to Come - Clown and Aftershock

Eli Roth Producing More Horrors to Come - Clown and AftershockEli Roth is one of the most busy and prolific filmmakers of our times. When not starring in or directing films himself, he's always looking to give a leg up to aspiring young filmmakers and you have got to love him for that.

According toDeadline New YorkRoth is at the center of bothClownandAftershock, two new horror projects that have just been set up to be fully financed by Cross Creek Pictures and Vertebra Films. Roth will produce and be the creative godfather of both.

Aftershockwill be a thriller which Nicolas Lopez will direct from a script he has written with Guillermo Amoedo. Lopez hails from Chile, and the film is set during the aftermath of the February 27, 2010 Chilean earthquake that hit 8.8 on the Richter scale, created a tsunami and claimed the lives of more than 480 in one terrifying event.

Strangely enoughClownmade its way on to Roth's radar thanks in part to a faux trailer (see below) that used his name which appeared on YouTube about a month or so ago. Jon Watts will directClownfrom a script he's writing with Christopher D. Ford. In it , a loving father dons a clown outfit, wig, bulbous nose and pancake makeup to entertain at his son's sixth birthday after the clown-for-hire is a no-show. Unable to take off the clown garb, dad's personality changes in horrific fashion. He and his family race to break the curse of the evil outfit before he undergoes a complete transformation into a homicidal killer with over-sized shoes.

It's amazing how this genre works sometimes, no? Too cool.

Look for more on both of these flicks soon.
